I have a vision of a day, not far off where a massive company, a family unit will rise up together and openly oppose human trafficking. A day does not go by that I don’t ponder, pray and position my faith for this. There are more slaves today then when William Wilberforce led abolishment of slavery. Yet, we talk about his accomplishment as if it was a reality TV series versus a modern day Hitler spirit set to destroy generations.

To pretend we dont all face unique and challenging hardships in life is to deny reality. The greatest leader that ever lived, breathed and moved on earth was none other than God himself. Jesus was the most radical, giant slaying, dead raising, die for a world that hates you kind of leader there ever has been. He had problems to deal with. He had issues and crisis to face daily. In fact, none of us have had to bare what he carried. He carried it for us.

The economy of India has boomed to skyrocketing heights making it one of the most powerful countries in the world. Second only to China, India boasts a population of 1.2 Billion. That is nearly 18% of the worlds total population. Even such a country strugles to put an end to the problem of child trafficking and poverty. Thousands of women and children are sold as slaves and are made to involve in prostitution, robbery, and other crimes. Most of them are trafficked from India to Gulf States, South East Asia, and European countries. India is both a supplier and a consumer when it comes to child trafficking. Many gangs of people are involved in illegal migration of children and they even go unnoticed by the government officials. Even though the government is taking the necessary actions, such smugglers still keep increasing in numbers.

In Bucharest Romania, and the rest of the week will be rough conditions. The 2000 Sewer Children will endure Highs of 8F and Lows at times nearing -15F. Yes, that’s right. There will be children as young as 3 and 4 years of age sleeping in this bitter cold weather. They take their shelter in the city sewers to at least live survive the night. Imagine hundreds and hundreds of children living in underground tunnels inhaling toxic fumes from the sewer which leads to severe infection. They have to lead their lives surrounded by the smell of rotting garbage, rat and human faeces, plastic bottles, banana skins, etc. The saddest part to me is that while astonishing, we are talking about a very fixable problem.
